Connecting Meta, permission by permission.

What you need, how the connection works, every permission we request and the section that uses it, plus the map of the deck.

01What you need

  • An ads.cab cab: open yours or log in. Plans are on the Pricing page.
  • In Meta, an admin or advertiser role on the ad accounts you want to manage, and access to the Pages your ads run from.
  • If the ad accounts belong to a business portfolio, a role there that lets you manage them.

02Connect a Meta profile

  1. In the deck, open Gate, the Connect tab, and press Connect Meta.
  2. Meta’s window opens. Press Continue with Facebook and sign in to Facebook there: ads.cab never sees the password.
  3. Tick the business portfolios, ad accounts and Pages ads.cab may use. Assets from several portfolios can be selected.
  4. Review the permissions listed below and confirm. Meta sends you back to ads.cab.
  5. ads.cab loads the assets; within a minute they appear in the Accounts tab of Gate.

Each person in the crew connects their own Meta profile. Never share someone else’s login.

06Formats and placements in Hangar

Hangar recognises the format of each file with a 3% tolerance: 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 or 1.91:1. The placement map gives every chosen placement its preferred format, then a fallback, and marks a gap when neither is in the set.

07What Preflight checks

Before a structure is created, Runway checks the launch. Every check ends in one of three outcomes: pass, warn (you may create, but look first) or fail (the launch stops until you fix it).

  • The Page and Instagram account are linked to the ad account and open to your role.
  • A pixel and a conversion event are set when the objective needs them.
  • Budgets are within the account cap and not below Meta’s minimums.
  • Creative set formats cover the chosen placements; a gap is a warn, an empty set is a fail.
  • Crowds exist, are ready and do not overlap too much.
  • The link opens and carries the tracking parameters from the template.
  • Names follow the template and do not repeat existing ones.

08What ads.cab never asks for

  • Your Facebook password, two-factor codes, cookies or browser sessions.
  • Access tokens copied from Ads Manager or any other tool.
  • Permissions that no ads.cab section uses.

If anyone asks for these in the name of ads.cab, send nothing and write to [email protected].

09Change or remove access

  • Add or remove assets: press Connect Meta again and change the selection in Meta’s window.
  • Refresh: in Gate, sync the profile to pull in new ad accounts and Pages.
  • Disconnect: press Disconnect and delete data. ads.cab revokes its permissions and deletes data received from Meta within 30 days.
  • From Facebook: remove ads.cab under Business Integrations. Step by step on the Data deletion page.

10Give the crew access

In Crew, invite people by email. Owners and admins see everything. A member gets access to a tag, a profile, an ad account or a Page, to view or to manage, personally or through a team. An invitation is valid for seven days and works once.
